JOB SUMMARY
Provides visionary leadership and tactical day-to-day management of Park Center’s Day Program in east Nashville, a program that provides in-person support and a hot meal to approximately 75 members during daytime hours. Serves as the leader of the program and contributes to the creation of an environment that is healing, hopeful, and conducive to recovery from mental distress. Supports, inspires, and encourages a team of recovery coaches to engage members with compassion, hope, and respect.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Guides all program activities and support services at Park Center East
- Welcomes and orients all new members to the space and culture of the Day Program.
- Listens to the needs of members to guide development of daily activities.
- Works with internal and external sources of support to enhance health and personal growth of members.
- Responds to any extreme emotions and potential crises as necessary.
- Holds weekly team meetings to improve program operations, communication, program resources, and other pertinent issues involving members. Reviews member goals.
- Schedules daily classes that interest and may benefit members.
- Helps manage transportation of members to and from the Day Program.
- Helps organize and cook healthy and delicious daily meals to members who visit the Day Program.
- Coordinates with employment specialists at Park Center to encourage conversations around employment goals.
- Manages interns and students, partnering with them to develop a program that is both educational for them and beneficial to the members and staff at Park Center.
- Supervises Day Program staff
- Provides effective supervision and coaching to a team of recovery coaches.
- Demonstrates and teaches trauma-informed care and recovery principles.
- Provides relief as necessary for staff who are absent or who have other obligations.
- Meets with staff at least twice a month to strengthen team-building relationships and to share information in a supervision format.
- Schedule time off and ensure that appropriate coverage is maintained.
- Reviews and approves staff timesheets.
- Hires and trains new staff as necessary.
- Provides oversight to member documentation
- Reviews member documentation to meet all applicable standards (CARF, state licensure regulations, TennCare contracts, etc.).
- Completes monthly progress audits.
- Regularly audits the electronic health record for data quality and completeness.
- Reports all accidents/critical incidents that occur within 24 hours.
- Conducts member satisfaction surveys.

- Collaborates with staff, members, and the community to gain the perspectives of others having diverse opinions, abilities, values, beliefs, perspectives, and ethnic or cultural backgrounds.
- Takes deliberate steps to increase own cultural competency by attending trainings, events, discussions, workshops, etc.
- Other duties:
- Learns agency policies and follows them accurately.
- Attends all necessary staff meetings and trainings.
- Participates in member activities as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in social work, sociology, or other related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in a mental health or social service setting.
- Demonstrates flexibility and teamwork in the delivery of services.
- Ability to communicate effectively with members and staff at all levels of the organization. Has strong management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates high standards of professional and ethical behavior.
- Must have a valid drivers’ license
- Must be able to show proof of personal automobile insurance.
- Must be insurable under Park Center's automobile insurance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in an office setting with limited remote work options. Attends community outings with members.
