Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Network/Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have at least 6 years of hands-on experience in network/security operations and be able to provide production support and design of various networking technologies. The candidate should also have excellent customer-facing communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience using a ticketing system or project management work tracking, notation keeping, and internal communications.
Responsibilities:
- Provide production support and design for core networking technologies including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, routing and switching infrastructure from Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc., and layer 2 technologies such as Spanning Tree, STP, RSTP, etc.
- Provide production support for two or more of the major firewall platforms including Cisco ASA, Fortinet FortiGate, Juniper SSG and ISG products, and Check Point NGX.
- Utilize packet capture/analysis packages such as Omni peek, Wireshark, etc. for network troubleshooting.
- Write design and implementation documents, Visio drawings, process documents, customer statements of work, etc.
- Obtain or willing to obtain relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, etc.
- Support large-scale data center infrastructure environments.
- Support network virtualization technologies such as virtual firewalls, virtual load balancers, MPLS VRFs, Nexus 1000V, etc.
- Support the networking requirements for multi-tenant environments.
- Provide support and design for load balancer implementations including F5 LTM & GTM, V-Shield, Brocade, Riverbed, A10.
- Have expert-level knowledge of DNS.
- Have advanced knowledge of network monitoring/management technologies such as SNMP, Netflow, syslog, monitoring applications, etc.
- Have experience with various operating systems including Windows and various flavors of Linux.
- Work independently or with others to prioritize and organize effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Operate in a fast-moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines.
- Be proficient in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 4 years of hands-on network/security experience working in IT operations.
- Experience using a ticketing system or project management work tracking, notation keeping, and internal communications.
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Base level understanding of core networking technologies including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, routing and switching infrastructure from Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc., and layer 2 technologies such as Spanning Tree, STP, RSTP, etc.
- 4 years of production support and design of the above technologies.
- 4 years of experience with network security technologies and best practices.
- 4 years of production support for two or more of the major firewall platforms including Cisco ASA, Fortinet FortiGate, Juniper SSG and ISG products, and Check Point NGX.
- Base level network troubleshooting skills utilizing packet capture/analysis packages such as Omni peek, Wireshark, etc.
- Experience writing design and implementation documents, Visio drawings, process documents, customer statements of work, etc.
- Obtained or willing to obtain relevant industry certifications (i.e., CCNP, CISSP, etc.).
- Adequate professional experience and knowledge to perform job responsibilities.
