The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is accountable for ensuring maximum cost effectiveness and the reliability of manufacturing process and workflow. They will determine best practice methods and sequences of manufacturing operations and ensure products and processes meet customer quality requirements by providing input and manufacturing plans for product design or modification. They will also be critical in supporting the Parker Winstrategy environment.
- Creates and facilitates training the ME organization on the processes, products, equipment, and systems that help manufacture product and support customer orders.
- Creates standard plans to support the following: risk mitigation, work standards, route workflows, training on key processes, tooling, and key manufacturing processes.
- Supports upkeeping the maintenance and uptime of equipment/hardware on the floor. This includes documenting robust work instructions on all operating equipment/hardware in the business and facilitating training for the ME organization.
- Evaluates and develops solutions for complex manufacturing problems through advanced processes, prepares work instructions, and manages capital equipment projects, including cost justifications and implementation of new equipment or modifications. Drive automation and simplification throughout the Operations team to drive Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Lead time improvements.
- Investigates and standardizes manufacturing methods for new products and prototypes, and implements changes to current processes for higher productivity by analyzing production, labor, and material costs.
- Plans workforce utilization, designs workspace layout for efficiency, assures process control, and improves efficiency by establishing "design for manufacture and assembly" plans. Applies continuous improvements and lean manufacturing principles to enhance products and processes.
- Ensures product and process quality through testing methods and statistical analysis, manages supplier relationships and audits, handles internal corrective actions, and maintains customer quality requirements through written procedures and contract reviews.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the relevant manufacturing, quality or operations support function obtained through a bachelor's degree in a manufacturing-related business or technical discipline, and eight or more years of progressive experience within the specialty area. Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results. Certification or a professional designation in a specialty area may be required or preferred depending on position requirements.
- Four or more years of increasing responsibility for leadership within manufacturing operations requiring advanced project planning and team organizational skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
- Thorough understanding of production technology, and/or specialty support areas including broad knowledge of business and regulatory environments and trends.
Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $$113,579 - $198,823
