Description
Parker McCay, P.A. located in Mt. Laurel, NJ seeks a FALL SEMESTER paid intern to assist with its busy proposal season. The successful student will gain valuable law firm marketing experience responding to RFPs from a variety of clients seeking legal representation and proposals for annual municipal appointments (i.e. solicitors, prosecutors, etc.). The Proposal Writer will assist the Marketing Team with the production of winning proposals in response to municipality, county, state, school board and other governmental entity RFPs, RFQs or RFIs as required under New Jersey's Fair and Open Process. You will work side by side with the Director of Marketing, Proposal Coordinator, COO and other Administrative team members.
Summary of Essential Functions and Expectations
- Assist with the production and delivery of compliant proposals, including researching RFPs, contributing to RFP responses, and assisting with tracking the Firm's RFP submissions
- Assisting with writing, editing, and proofreading content (proposal responses, basic news items, etc.)
- Updating website (html not necessary; training on content management system will be provided), several social media platforms, and the firm's blog
- Assisting with preparing for firm presence at events, seminars, and conferences
- Conducting research for the firm and attorneys (company specific information, professional associations, miscellaneous requests)
- Completing administrative duties including faxing, copying, e-mail blasts, small mailings, and other functions as assigned
Requirements
Specific skills/qualifications/majors for internship position:
- Superior attention to detail and proofreading
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point). Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
- Excellent communication, writing, and research skills. Ability to draft website copy and basic content.
- Works well on a team and independently
- Experience with marketing and public relations, either through coursework or hands-on experience
- Professional demeanor
- Curiosity, integrity and a solid work ethic
- Creativity and ability to work on own initiative and meet deadlines
- Notary is a plus
