Administrative Assistant needed for a local non-profit community support center in Seattle

Employment Type: Contract, approximately 6 months with potential to extend or become permanent

As the Administrative Assistant for the Hunger & Food Resources Department, you'll be responsible for supporting the programs, committee, WA State Department of Agriculture Emergency Food Assistant Program (EFAP) subcontracts.
What you'll be doing.
- Provide staffing and administrative assistance to programs and support the coalition of Seattle food banks.
- Work in collaboration with other staff and coalition members to coordinate special events, workshops, and trainings.
- Record, prepare, and distribute monthly meeting minutes, and calendars.
- Design and produce brochures, flyers, surveys, and other materials using desktop publishing or web-based software.
- Prepare and submit check requests for program expenses.
- Assist with coordination and maintenance of subcontracts including processing monthly reports, and monthly accurate data entry of food bank statistics.
- Develop reports, fact sheets and presentations from data to assist in proposal development, funding reports, and to provide information to the government, media, and other individuals and organizations interested in Seattle’s emergency food system.
- Participate in program, department, and agency meetings and relevant trainings as required, as well as agency Anti-Racism Initiative activities.
What we're looking for.
- 1-3 years of administrative experience
- Highly proficient with MS Office software including Word, Publisher, Outlook, and, in particular, Excel
- Familiarity with web design software and social media platforms
- Experience working with people from a variety of racial, cultural and economic backgrounds, with various lifestyles, sexual orientations, and of all ages
- Experience with Adobe InDesign is a bonus!
