Job Summary
Parkrose Hardware cashiers provide outstanding and quick checkout service to customers at our registers. Each cashier must greet customers, maintain the highest customer service experience, and must process transactions accurately and efficiently. In addition, all cashiers must perform other customer service duties such as handling refunds, completing returns, filling orders, and may perform other duties on the sales floor including stocking, sales, and cleaning responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Customer Service
- Greet customers entering Parkrose Hardware.
- Direct customers to products and/or departments whilst providing quality customer service and a positive interaction.
- Receive payments by cash, check, credit card, gift certificate, and internal charge accounts.
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits and change due to customers.
- Maintain a clean, orderly checkout area.
- Resolve customer concerns in a friendly, positive and helpful manner.
- Work as part of the Parkrose Hardware Team.
- Package products for sale and mark products with appropriate price and/or SKU.
- Answer phone and direct customers to the appropriate staff member at Parkrose Hardware.
- Discover and suggest add-on sales items to customers.
- Sincerely thank customers for their business, and directly contribute to a fun, friendly shopping experience.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School degree or G.E.D. equivalent, and (1) year experience in a retail environment preferred.
- Demonstrated customer service ability
- Cash Handling experience with demonstrated ability count change accurately and efficiently
- Must be able to effectively navigate basic computer programs and be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, etc.
