Activities Director

Parkside Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Ellijay is seeking a dedicated Activities Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing engaging and enriching activities for our residents, focusing on their well-being and quality of life.

Responsibilities:

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in related field.
• Requires experience working with older adults.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in developing a social activities program.
• Good organization skills.
• Outgoing, warm and caring personality.
• Develop and implement a diverse range of recreational programs and activities suitable for residents with varying needs and interests
• Coordinate social events, outings, and group activities to promote socialization and mental stimulation
• Provide care and support to residents, especially those requiring specialized attention such as dementia care or memory care
• Collaborate with staff to integrate activities into the overall care plan of residents
• Manage schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of planned activities
• Plan and execute events that cater to the aging population, considering their physical and cognitive abilities
• Utilize knowledge of recreational therapy and social work principles to enhance residents' overall well-being

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in assisted living or similar environment preferred
• Strong background in recreational therapy, social work, or related fields
• Knowledge of aging issues counseling and caregiving techniques
• Familiarity with memory care programs and event planning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
