Media Relations Manager

Summary
Leads the development and day-to-day operations of Parkview Health’s media relations program. Serves as the Parkview spokesperson and primary media liaison; develops media and public information strategies in support of Parkview service lines, facilities, programs, awards and recognition, and physicians and providers. Develops media outreach communications and coordinates news conferences and other media events. Manages crisis/disaster communications and anticipates and prepares for needs in this area. Develops communications plans and leadership talking points for community announcements and events. Collaborates with the marketing team to coordinate public events including, but not limited to, ground breakings, ribbon cuttings, sponsorships and community investments.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field.
Experience
Must have five years of experience in media relations, community relations and planning/coordination of special events.
Other Qualifications
Must possess skills in crisis communications management, journalistic writing, editing and interview techniques. Must be able to lead a team and collaborate effectively with other leaders. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and make accurate decisions during stressful situations and respond to citizen and media requests in a timely, courteous and effective manner. Must provide own transportation and be available to perform job functions away from the hospital as requested.
