Prior experience required with working knowledge of insurance portals and Epic EMR

Summary

• ·Primary duty is to obtain pre-certification and prior authorization as needed for the providers of PPG-MCHA.
• Communicates with physician offices, patients, nursing staff and ancillary departments regarding scheduled surgeries and documented diagnosis, past testing and any other information needed to obtain approval for procedures.
• Also to obtain information required to obtain approval for ancillary testing, and medication authorizations and refills.

Education

· Must be a graduate of a school of nursing.

· Must complete General Orientation, Patient Care Orientation, and PPG practice orientation as provided and required.

Licensure/Certification

· Must have current state Licensed Practice Nurse license.

· Must have current CPR certification.

· Additional certifications may be required for specific areas.

Other Qualifications

· Must have sufficient previous clinical experience (during training) in area of assignment.

· Demonstrate experience in customer service, establishing priorities, and working independently.

· Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and assist with 100 lbs.
