What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at Parkview Services?

OVERVIEW

Parkview Supported Living serves six adults with developmental disabilities and is located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. Caregivers will be required to assist with basic personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs), behavioral support, administer medications, assist with client finances, prepare meals, maintain the cleanliness of the home, and work one (1) overnight shift per week. Our team of caregivers are well-established and have been working in the home for many years. We are seeking a compassionate person who will work well with the team to create a safe, caring, happy, and healthy life for our residents. Parkview provides 24 hour care and may require working on weekends.

Starting pay is $21 - $23 per hour depending on experience and credentials. Full-time employees receive medical and dental benefits, paid vacation and sick leave, and 401(k) eligibility after one year of employment. All staff are required to pass a fingerprint criminal background check in accordance with DSHS, and complete state required training and certification, which will be provided by Parkview.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

New staff will complete 75 hours of training which will include: Orientation & Safety, Core Basic Fundamentals of Caregiving, Population Specific, Home Care Aide Certification, Nurse Delegation, First Aid & CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, Food Handlers, and Parkview Policies & Procedures training. Direct Support Staff with then be required to complete 12 hours of continuing education annually. All new employees are also required to complete a tuberculosis test in accordance with DSHS regulations.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
