Extrusion Operator

Company DescriptionKelly Services is looking to hire several Site Logistics Operators/Material Handlers in Knoxville, TN for an industry leading chemical company. For this opportunity, you could be placed as a Chemical Finished Product Operator or a Polymers Packaging/Warehousing/Shipping Operator on a long-term, indefinite assignment. You will be working with chemicals and should be comfortable doing such - either with previous experience or the willingness to learn.Job DescriptionSupport Cardio Vascular R&D Extrusion department by supplying clean tooling to the extrusion lines and partaking in the disassembly and reassembly of extruders.Available Shifts:3:00 PM – 11:30 PM11:00 PM – 7:30 AMPosition Responsibilities:Follow all Process Instructions, Specification Boards, SOP s, DOP s, Quality Policy and other related documentsIdentify/communicate equipment/setup issues and provide status updates to Engineers/Supervisor/Peers.Prepare resins per Mix Resin procedure.Calibrate transducers and start purging the extruder.Maintain 5s and utilize all lean tools.Machine breakdowns and set upsOperate all burn room equipment and hand tools.Assemble parts and have quick change die carts ready for break downs.Make sure crosshead, extrusion line, and all equipment are aligned and straight.Operate the ultrasonic cleaner system and subsequent filter cleaning.Bubble test filters, bag and tag them, update filter inventory data base, and bubble point data base.Tooling set-upDefine suitable tooling for extrusion requisition per DDR or DDB.Select correct filters for runs.Inspect damaged pin and dies.
