Job Description
About this job:
PartnerRe’s Corporate Audit Trainee Program is designed to support talent development by attracting high potential individuals to join the Audit team for a unique Traineeship.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in conducting risk-based audits of key business processes in accordance with professional standards for internal auditing to ensure that internal controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively
- Assists in following up of audit recommendations to ensure appropriate corrective action has been taken to resolve identified control deficiencies
- Assists in the planning and execution of audits of the design and operating effectiveness of Internal Control over Financial Reporting (Sarbanes–Oxley 404 control testing)
- Assisting on special projects
The program is being designed to work along-side experienced members of the Corporate Audit Group to gain first-hand experience as to how each aspect of the Company’s operations works while completing internal audit assignments. Trainees will receive structured training and will have the opportunity to enhance their development through exposure to all aspects of PartnerRe's operations in a professional environment.
The duration of tenure within internal audit would typically be 18 months. At the end of the training period, the trainee would then join the sponsoring P&C North America business unit.
The ideal candidate would be high potential, recent university graduate, to be based in our Stamford office to have access to hands-on training by members of the Audit team.
Qualifications
This is an exceptional opportunity for the right individual with the following profile:
- Degree in either Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, or Actuarial Science
- High capacity to learn and intellectual curiosity
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build a strong internal network through audit engagements and informal communications
- Motivated and goal oriented with an ability to work in an international, cross functional environment
- Strong team player with a positive attitude and the ability to sustain a high level of work output while meeting tight deadlines
- Self-starter that possess independent thinking and creative problem solving skills
- Possess the drive, dedication, commitment and ability to grow within the Company
