Partners In Care Maryland, Inc. (PIC) is a Volunteer Based 501c(3) nonprofit Organization dedicated to providing Programs and Services that empower Older Adults to Age In Place with Dignity and Respect, while enabling them to remain actively engaged in the communities they love.
Based on a unique Service Exchange / Time Banking model, Members volunteer their time and talents to help each other with neighborly services, bank their hours, and ask for assistance when needed.
Opportunity
We have an immediate opening for a Full-Time AmeriCorp Planning Manager/Program Director to oversee our recently awarded AmeriCorp State Planning Grant. The chosen candidate will have a crucial role in the planning and successful acquisition of a fully operational AmeriCorp Operational Grant, by overseeing all aspects of program development, with the possibility of long-term employment based on successful grant award.
Overview
The chosen candidate will work closely with the President/CEO and other key Staff Members, and will be responsible for the design, development, and building of operational readiness to implement the AmeriCorps program, and the submission of the Operational Grant Application.
If Partners In Care Maryland, Inc. is subsequently awarded the Operational Grant, the person in this temporary role may transition into a permanent full-time role as Program Director, managing the AmeriCorps Program.
Responsibilities:
- Research, design, and formalize the following for an AmeriCorps program:
- Steps to increase Organizational capacity
- Staffing structure, supervision, and training
- Partnership development
- AmeriCorps member support and engagement
- Compliance and accountability
- Calls/meetings, implement other means of ascertaining stakeholder interest
- Lead grant management reporting, evaluation, and communication, including monthly reporting as directed by the planning grant and work with the Grant Manager and team to apply for the operational grant
- Create an advisory team to gain input from community partners, staff, stakeholders
- Work with the designated Consulting Service in preparing materials that would be needed for the first year of implementation, including but not limited to:
- Marketing materials to recruit AmeriCorps members
- Member orientation materials
- Member manual
- Supervisor manual
- Reporting mechanisms (e.g., defined metrics for outputs/outcomes to be tracked)
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related or relevant field
- At least 5 years of Project Management experience - PMP certification desired
- Experience in nonprofit organization
- REQUIRED - Relevant Project Management experience within an AmeriCorp Program a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High level of interpersonal and ethical skills, specifically working with Volunteers
- Superb verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail in composing and editing materials.
- Ability to work independently, including managing multiple projects and deadlines and proactively identifying and completing tasks.
- Ability to collaborate on informal and formal team-based projects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
Role and Responsibilities
Needs Assessment
- Identify the specific roles that AmeriCorp Members will fulfill and create Descriptions for each role.
- Goal Setting
- Define clear objectives for the Partners In Care AmeriCorp Program.
- Establish measurable outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with community partners, local organizations, and government agencies.
- Build relationships with potential funders and sponsors.
- Establish an Advisory Committee made of community partners, local organizations and government agencies in each county that Partners In Care exists.
Budgeting and Resource Allocation
- Develop a budget for the Operational Grant, including staffing, materials, and technology.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet program goals.
- Training and Recruitment
- Create a structured training program and materials for AmeriCorp members.
- Working with chosen Marketing Consultant, develop marketing and outreach strategies and create materials to attract Americorp Program participants.
- Program Compliance and Accountability
- Working with staff and fiscal/compliance consultant, ensure that Partners In Care’s internal controls meet AmeriCorp requirements to include:
- Create a Theory of Change/Logic Model to measure Program Outputs and Outcomes
- Develop recruitment, registration, training, assessment processes and Key Performance Indiciators (KPIs).
- Develop report mechanisms.
Program Support and Administration
- Supervise, support and work collaboratively with the Planning Grant Program Coordinator and other key Partners In Care Staff emmbers to develop a fully prepared AmeriCorp Program that is ready to launch upon the successful award of an Operational Grant.
