Primary Purpose

Responsible for supervising staff and managing daily operations of the Tūtū and Me virtual program.

Essential Duties

  • Supervise and mentor staff to ensure a quality virtual program is implemented; including managing behavior (working with HR and supervisor in drafting and administering employee disciplinary reports if necessary), conducting annual performance reviews with each staff, conducting regular check-ins with each staff to support staff retention including stay interviews;
  • Assist the team with virtual instruction, purchasing, prepping, and disseminating learning materials, and assisting with children and caregiver assessments;
  • Ensure that a developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant virtual curriculum for children and caregivers is being carried out;
  • Keep current on innovative virtual instruction that maintains a high-quality and engaging family learning environment;
  • Participate in monthly site manager meetings and other meetings as requested;
  • Manage and monitor program expenditures, family enrollment, and daily reports for the virtual teaching team(s);
  • Plan and coordinate professional development training and cultural learning for teaching teams, organizing presenters, dates, and venues;
  • Review monthly team reports and lesson plans for accuracy, note trends and prepare monthly statistical reports;
  • Provide transportation for self and team members to and from designated sites as needed.

Other Duties

Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, completing all forms and documentation such as reports related to grant objectives, professional development evaluations, and daily logs.

Work Hours

  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or as otherwise determined by the supervisor;
  • Work hours are subject to change due to external demands/meetings taking place in the field;
  • Position requires regular and predictable attendance;
  • Some events on evenings or weekends at various times.

Working Conditions

  • Program office and program sites;
  • Traveling in foundation and/or personal vehicle to and from program sites, events, and meetings;
  • Travel to the neighbor islands and continental U.S. may be required.

Equipment Use

Computer, printer, bluetooth equipment, speaker, copier, scanner, telephone (land and cellular), laminator, shredder, and vehicle.

Physical:

  • ·Must participate in strenuous activities which may include loading/unloading of equipment and washing of vans and mats;
  • Requires lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds on a regular basis;
  • Must be able to sit and work on floor, kneel and bend.

Communication:

  • Must exhibit courteous and professional demeanor towards program participants, staff, administration via verbal, written, physical, and electronic correspondence;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required;
  • Must be able to properly handle and maintain highly confidential information.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, human services, management, or related field;
  • Experience:

○ At least two (2) years experience managing staff and programs;

○ At least three (3) years experience working with children ages 0-5 and their caregivers;

  • Possess strong, foundational knowledge and experience in the implementation of early childhood education, curriculum and assessments;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Canva publishing and all virtual meeting platforms;
  • Must have access to a vehicle, a valid driver's license, a safe and responsible driving record, and current no-fault auto insurance, with at least $100K in bodily collision per person and $25K in property damage liability.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Hawaiian culture.
