Primary Purpose

Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Tutu and Me site.

Essential Duties

  • Supervise and mentor staff to ensure that a quality program is implemented;
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with site facility personnel (e.g., school principals, church leaders, etc.), landlords, independent contractors, vendors, community agencies and community members;
  • Ensure that a developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant curriculum for children and caregivers is being carried out;
  • Manage and monitor expenditures for the assigned team(s);
  • Plan and coordinate the annual training calendar for site team(s)-organizing presenters, dates and venue;
  • Review team reports for accuracy, note trends and prepare monthly statistical reports;
  • Visit program sites regularly and provide feedback to teaching team;
  • Participate in monthly site managers meetings and other meetings as requested.

Other Duties

Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, completing all forms and documentation such as reports related to grant objectives, professional development evaluations, and daily logs.

Work Hours

  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or as otherwise determined by the supervisor;
  • Work hours are subject to change due to external demands/meetings taking place in the field.
  • Position requires regular and predictable attendance;
  • Some events on evenings or weekends at various times.

Working Conditions

  • Program office and program sites;
  • Traveling in foundation and/or personal vehicle to and from program sites, events, and meetings;
  • Travel to the neighbor islands and continental U.S. may be required.

Equipment Use

Computer, printer, copier, scanner, telephone (land and cellular) Bluetooth, voice recorder, laminator, shredder, calculator, speaker system, vehicle.

Physical:

  • Must participate in strenuous activities which may include loading/unloading of equipment and washing of vans and mats;
  • Requires lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds on a regular basis;
  • Must be able to sit and work on floor, kneel and bend.

Communication:

  • Must exhibit courteous and professional demeanor towards program participants, staff, administration via verbal, written, physical, and electronic correspondence;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required;
  • Must be able to properly handle and maintain highly confidential information.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, human services, or management with five or more years experience in ECE;
  • Proficient in integrating developmentally appropriate practices, into lesson planning for keiki from birth to age 5;
  • Proven experience in working directly with parents and caregivers;
  • Possess a strong, foundational knowledge and experience in the implementation of early childhood assessments;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including but not limited to Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint, Google Drive (Meetings, Docs, Sheets, Calendar), email, internet researching, and virtual meeting platforms;
  • Must have access to a vehicle, have a valid driver's license, a safe and responsible driving record, and current no-fault auto insurance, with at least $100K in bodily collision per person and $25K in property damage liability.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Hawaiian culture.
