Job Description Summary
The prime directive of this position is to accomplish the goals of the Instructional Leadership Team which includes: achieving scores of 9 or 10 on the API in the charter, and reaching 100% passage of the CAHSEE and 100% retention. This position interacts directly with students, parents, teachers, and staff as needed to address/intervene when mental health issues beyond the scope of practice of the school psychologist, and which are related to the identified student’s education, negatively impact or preclude the student from learning. This position links to learning/instructional support. This position will be available to provide direct instruction to students 6 hours a day.Requesting additional Mental Health Clinician to provide Educationally Related Mental Health Support services.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:*
- Provide diagnostic services, clinical counseling and recommendations for pupils with special needs.
- Provide Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) as required in the student Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Observe students; assess, evaluate, analyze, diagnose, and write psychological reports and IEP goals.
- Participate in the decision-making process regarding appropriate/beneficial placement of students.
- Provide training, group counseling and collaborative interventions with the school psychologist as needed.
- Participate in Individual Education Program meetings with students and parents as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of State and Federal Laws related to Educationally Related Mental Health Services.
- Experience with adolescents with successful outcomes related to learning.
- Knowledge of evaluation and research techniques, strategies and procedures.
- Excellent written and oral skills.
- Ability to communicate well with students, parents and teachers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED:
- Five years clinical experience preferred.
- Experience working within a school system.
- Bilingual.
Education and Experience:
- Must be a licensed mental health professional (i.e. Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Marriage Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor)
