The Job at a Glance
The Manager of Demand Planning (internally knows as Gatherer of Sku Demand) will be responsible for deployment and support of Parts Town America’s demand planning and forecasting processes for a multi- plant distribution network. This role will lead optimizing part availability service level performance initiatives while delivering against the organizations working capital investment responsibilities. This leader will ensure measurements are in place to highlight monthly forecast accuracy performance, provide proactive insights on variances between forecast and actual consumption, conduct analysis’ to determine root cause of forecast error/bias, and uncover opportunities to drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain continuum that involves 1,300 suppliers.
A Typical Day
- Establish inventory and service level strategic plans through SIOP and CPFR (Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment) engagements throughout the organization
- Monitor and action against key performance indicators that drive process improvement and the delivery of Parts Town demand planning and inventory management objectives
- Execute project responsibilities, including data collection, analysis, documentation, presentation, and status updates
- Coach, mentor, and inspire demand planning teams on best practices, improvement opportunities, and a data driven strategic approach to decision making
- Collaborate with supply chain internal and external partners (customers and manufacturers) and drive improvement opportunities and/or help solve critical business problems
- Ensure visibility of KPIs through the development and maintenance of reports and dashboards
To Land This Opportunity
- You have 5 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, inventory management, or related experience equivalent
- You are passionate about forecasting models and ways to measure and continuously improve them
- You are an all-star when working with large amounts of data and are fluent in data manipulation and other analytical techniques, including display, visualization, and score carding
- You have ability to manage multiple projects at once; have experiences leading projects with cross-functional team members in a high-complexity environment
- You enjoy collaboration willing to work in cross-functional teams and experience influencing outside of reporting structures
- Bonus points if you have experience with SAP
- You’re an all-star communicator, fluent in English (both written and verbal)
