What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Party Fowl?
We are looking for servers who know how to create a positive memorable experience for our guests. We are also looking for salespeople, not just order takers. You will be responsible for sales, taking orders, and serving food. Duties will include taking food and drink orders, entering orders into our point-of-sale (POS) system, and ensuring that tables have great service and that all payments are collected.
To succeed in this role, you will need a positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure with bussers, cooks, and other staff. Previous work experience involving customer service in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
Server responsibilities:
- Take food and drink orders from guests accurately and with a positive attitude and smile. Suggestive selling is a must.
- Write patrons' food orders on order slips, repeat orders back, or enter orders into the Toast POS system
- Engage with customers and show them true hospitality.
- Know the menus so you can answer questions and make suggestions.
- Make sure tables are enjoying their meals and Party Fowl experience and take action to correct any problems.
- Collect payments from tables.
- Side work (rolling silverware, filling napkin dispensers, etc.) to prepare for each shift.
- Prepare checks that itemize total meal costs and sales taxes.
- Provide tip out to those staff members who are assigned to assist the server. (Food Runner, Server Assistant, Bartender & Greeter). Tip out will be calculated on your server check out the form based on your sales **NOTE: While tip out is required for server support roles, we do NOT tip share! All tips made in your section are 100% yours!
- Maintain Station and cleanliness. Including sweeping and mopping the floor.
- Help food preparation staff when necessary.
Server requirements
- Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with bussers, cooks, and other staff.
- Able to do exceptional work while unsupervised.
- Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Ability to problem solve on the fly.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.
