JOIN OUR TEAM AS A CUSTOMER SERVICE METER READER SUPERVISOR!

Actively plan and supervise the work of team members responsible for residential and commercial meter reading operations, and associated service orders for association accounts/connections. Evaluate performance and train/mentor team members on meter reading technology/service order applications for daily operations, procedures and guidelines. Plan, schedule and assign routes, to include that meters are read accurately, and on-time every month. Ensure work quality but conduction routine and unplanned inspection of tasks completed, both in the field and office. Work very closely with the Billing Team to ensure are Meter Reading exceptions are addresses, tracked and logged. Research and solve issues concerning meter-reading functions – to include hardware, software and audit compliance. Conduct field investigations on meters and associated appurtenances. Meets with customers as needed to explain meter/end point operation; analyze data and prepare a variety of reports, facilitate CIS software updates/integration, and all associated software/hardware implementation to help ensure seamless interaction between the Meter Reading Team and Customer Service and Customer Billing Operations.

Plans and assigns meter reading routes and service orders in coordination with billing schedule. Oversees the daily use of the Automated Meter Reading System, including any and all related software updates, to transmit routes to readers, readings to the billing system, and printed reports. Maintains and troubleshoots, Automated Meter Reading System and equipment. Trains Team Members on procedures, policies, and guidelines relative to meter reading, service orders and data analyzes. Participates in Emergency Operations Center activations.  Reviews and analyzes data/reports, and create, update and train Team Members on Standard Operating Procedures. Analyzes errors and inconsistencies prior to billing and provide office support as requested for all types of customer billing/questions.  Makes field inspections and investigations of meters/end points and follow up on meter consumption concerns, problems, or special meter reading. Implements and manages the meter reader "minute man" plan. Oversees safety training for the Meter Reading team, and coordinates all activities as they relate to County policies – to include motor pool maintenance requirements. Assists with the development, implementing and monitoring of the annual budget for the Section, and other related duties.

  • Ability to calculate arithmetic equations rapidly and accurately.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices used for water-meter reading operations.
  • Knowledge of principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Knowledge of computers and programs to operate Automated Meter Reading Systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge of process improvement theories and techniques.
  • Strong skill set in using software programs, to include excel, Outlook, Windows, PowerPoint, and similar software programs.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. 

PHYSICAL SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS:  Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects.  Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and walk for extended periods.  Adaptable to inclement weather.  Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication. 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:  Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate degree, and two (2) years' experience analyzing data, creating reports, and troubleshooting programs & hardware and one (1) year of supervisory or team lead experience OR graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and four (4) years' of experience. Two (2) years' of supervisory or team lead experience.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:  Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
