JOIN OUR TEAM AS A SUMMER LIFEGUARD II!
Responsible recreation work concerned with the operation of a County pool or beach.
Supervises Lifeguard I positions, maintains the safety of all swimmers, takes appropriate lifesaving action, administers First-Aid and provides swimming and water safety instruction. Conducts staff training programs, generates assigned reports and records, and performs daily maintenance associated with a public swimming facility. Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. Performs related work as required.
- Ability to maintain the safety of all swimmers; take appropriate lifesaving action and administer first-aid.
- Candidates must be in good physical condition and have mature judgment.
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects. Ability to swim, climb, bend, stoop, walk, and squat frequently. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
A comparable amount of directly related experience MAY be substituted at the County's discretion for the minimum educational requirements if candidates are not available that fully meet the minimum requirements of the position as posted.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Candidates must pass a lifesaving test and possess valid American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First-Aid certifications.
