Title: Manager-Production Engineering
Location: Bloomingdale, IL
Hours: 8-5
- Once a week, Work-from-home is allowed.
FLSA: Exempt
Pay: $100k-120k

General Position Summary
This position is responsible reinforcing self-reliance of production engineering while reviewing efficiencies and eliminating waste within current and future manufacturing processes by implementing new projects.
Reports to: General Manager-Production Engineering
Essential Job Functions
Production Engineering

Responsible for multiple engineering departments including Stamping, Welding, Quality and Simultaneous Engineering

Establishes KPIs for processes to assure that objectives are met, including plan versus actual.

Supports and designs the implementation and maintenance of production systems to deliver project on time to safety, quality, efficiency, and cost requirements.

Provides technical inputs for new business and facilitates successful outcomes.

Manages tooling supplier and communicates with Japan HQ, LCC makers, local suppliers, and entities with technical and cost negotiations.

Coordinates searches for new tooling suppliers.

Manages materials for trail with the purchasing department.

Drives validation plans to ensure robust and comprehensive technical solutions.

Stays current and up to date on any technology changes that may affect manufacturing design and development processes.

Monitors the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems.

Monitor and coach the team to operational success.

Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.

Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Production Engineering General Manager

Reports to work daily (M-F) based on company schedule and complies with all company policies and procedures.

Follows up to complete any assigned work.

Maintains good communication with supervisors, staff members and outside contacts.

Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.
Qualifications
Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from four-year College or University or equivalent experience.

Six sigma or TPS certifications preferred.
Work Experience
-
Minimum of two years of production engineering leadership experience at the manager level in a manufacturing (automotive manufacturing preferred).
