We’re looking for someone to join our team as a Full Time Personal Trainer who is responsible for developing a fitness program to meet the specific needs of the client and for ensuring that equipment is used appropriately and for the desired purpose, working collaboratively with staff involved in the care and treatment of clients in this endeavor.
Position: Certified Personal Trainer
Location: In-Person, Malibu, California
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, and implement workout programs that match the needs and goals of clients
- Instruct clients on basic exercise physiology and inform them as to proper lifting and exercise technique
- Provide clients with exercise recommendations to meet their desired fitness goals
- Gather and maintain information on clients fitness expectations and provide guidance for reaching those goals
- Adhere to the documentation guidelines set forth by Passages
- Provide safe and effective spotting techniques to clients
- Regularly inspect equipment and report and safety or maintenance needs
- Monitor clients progress and adapt programs as needed
- Familiarize clients with the safe and effective use of all cardiovascular, resistance, and free weight equipment
- Modify specific exercises to accommodate various skill levels
- Provide practical feedback and support
Qualification Guidelines:
- Bachelors degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education or Exercise Science preferred
- Certification in personal training required
- Valid California Drivers License with a good driving record (in the Companys sole discretion) required
Physical Demands:
- Normal demands associated with an office environment
- Stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, reach
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work on computers for periods of time
- Recognize faces
- Distinguish colors as necessary
- Hear sufficiently and speak clearly on the phone, in person, and in the environment, identify and distinguish sounds associated with the workplace
- See adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to the position
Work Environment:
- Office environment with moderate noise level
- Gym environment with noise variations
Other
- Travel between company locations in Los Angeles and Ventura counties is required as company needs dictate.
- This position requires occasional driving as duties dictate, which may include transporting clients.
- Must satisfy post-offer, pre-employment conditions such as tuberculosis screening (annually thereafter), background check (including criminal and driving record check), drug screening, reference check. Ongoing monitoring and screenings during employment in accordance with law and company policy.
