Maintenance Worker

Full Time Maintenance Worker - Weekends Required

We are looking for someone to join our team as a Maintenance Worker who performs a variety of semi-skilled construction, maintenance, modifications and repair activities in assigned areas which may include landscape and facilities, and performs related work as required.

Position: Maintenance Worker

Location: In-Person, Port Hueneme, California

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Ensures that the facility grounds are maintained in a manner designed to provide safe access to, in, and around the facility, and a safe environment for clients, employees and visitors
• Ensures that all buildings and their contents, including furniture, appliances, and program materials are maintained in good repair
• In collaboration with the Safety officer, ensures that the facility policy on distribution of services in implemented when indicated
• Demonstrates compliance with all policies and procedures related to the environment of care

• Notifies the Administrator of facility problems
• Participates in establishing and maintaining a social and physical environment that supports the facilities mission and standards of conduct/code of ethics
• Makes recommendations to improve facility cleanliness, safety, and security policies and procedures
• Participates in emergency preparedness drills
• Assists with keeping the facility clean and orderly
• Other duties as assigned

Qualification Guidelines:

-Physical Demands:

• Stand and walk continuously
• Ability to reach above, at, or below waist height
• Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, turn, and twist
• Ability to hear well enough to detect noise, discern sounds, and understand speech
• Ability to discern odors
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 10lbs.; occasionally 20-50lbs.
• Ability to frequently push/pull wheeled carts weighing from 100-200lbs.
• Ability to manipulate large and small tools frequently
• Ability to work outside in temperatures from 30 degrees F. 110 degrees F occasionally

-Work Environment:

• Ability to work at a fast pace and tolerate a variety of repetitive tasks
• Ability to work in an environment where noise levels vary
• Tasks may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, infectious materials, and/or hazardous materials

Competencies:

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma preferred
• Minimum of 2 years experience in maintenance and/or construction, preferably in service related industry.
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal; bilingual desirable
• Knowledge of OSHA and regulatory safety helpful
• Valid California Driver License with good driving record (in Company's sole discretion) required

Other:

• This is a safety-sensitive position
• This position requires regular local travel among company locations.
• Must satisfy post-offer, pre-employment conditions such as tuberculosis screening (annually thereafter), background check (including criminal and driving record check), drug screening, reference check. Ongoing monitoring and screenings during employment in accordance with law and company policy.
