Job Posting for Associate Dean for Distance Education and the Learning Resource Center at Passaic County Community College

We are seeking an Associate Dean for Distance Education and the Learning Resource Center who will direct the planning, development, operations and evaluation of the College's Distance Education Program and the Learning Resources Center in support of the teaching and learning. 

This is a full-time, exempt, administrative position.
  1. Oversees the review, revision and implementation o f policy, procedure and standards of effective delivery of all types of distance education all types of synchronous learning; 
  2. Ensures that the library services and collections meet requirements of regional accreditation and is consistent with holdings of community colleges; 
  3. Coordinates with the Center for Teaching and Learning to provide professional development based on campus needs, for faculty who teach distance education courses;
  4. Researches new trends in distance education;
  5. Ensures compliance with college, state and federal codes, guidelines and policies including accreditation standards (MSCHE) copyright and intellectual property rights and Section 508 compliance of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  6. Perform other duties as assigned
  1. Master's degree in education or related field required, doctorate preferred;
  2. Two or more years teaching academic courses online, blended and face to face;
  3. Five years experience in distance education, instructional design, and/instructional technology required;
  4. Experience with learning management systems and higher education administrative systems required;
  5. Knowledgeable in the theories and practices of online pedagogy and student learning required;
  6. Strong knowledge of and experience with Quality Standards for Distance Education and College libraries preferred;
  7. Experience managing an instructional design team in a higher education setting preferred;
  8. Ability to stay abreast of current and developing technological trends in distance education required;
  9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that facilitate collaborative relationships required
