Position Title: Food Services Coordinator

Reports To: Executive Director

Classification: Salaried Position- forty hours / five days per week

Position Summary

The Path at Stone Summit Food Services Coordinator will encompass primary responsibilities that support all culinary requirements and actively engage with the resident's overall experience. The Food Services Coordinator will oversee all food procurement and management of all kitchen supplies. The Food Services Coordinator will work closely with residents and staff to meet the nutritional guidelines required by the state and to build a menu that not only meets these guidelines but represents and embraces the culinary needs of the residential program.


Working Relationships

This position will report to the Executive Director. This position will work with and collaborate with the Program Manager and the House Manager as needed to support the operational needs of the kitchen. The nature of the position will facilitate direct contact with many of Path’s staff and residents. As such a professional and collaborative relationship is a critical component of the work.


General Responsibilities
  • Oversee, coordinate and execute all culinary operational initiatives related to the residential experience including but limited to all aspects of required nutritional requirements and a state approved menu to be published.
  • Generate, procure and create 10 meals per week that meet all and federal and state nutritional requirements.
  • Manage and make recommendations for the operational functionality of the kitchen.
  • Develop and implement training and/or educational culinary sessions for the residents.
  • Other duties as assigned by the ED

Qualifications

  • This position requires education in all culinary practices. A strong working knowledge of state and federal guidelines for nutrition in a long term care facility setting.
  • This position requires a robust understanding of culinary practices and the operational needs to support this work.
  • This position requires a strong professional approach to the nature of the work and to the staff and residents of Path. The level of involvement with others requires strong communication and problem solving skills. The ability to work well under pressure and the ability to work with a diverse population is critical to the success of this individual.
  • Due to the nature of the work, the Food Services Coordinator will be required to work five days per week.

Working conditions and physical demands

This individual must be able to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 40lbs over one’s shoulders, and to work effectively in a residential care facility with a diverse community. The work relies on long periods of self motivated tasks and the ability to develop and execute plans with little supervision.
