Summary/Objective
The General Manager is responsible for managing and leading a team who are responsible for overseeing teams that conduct construction site evaluations to verify field compliance (SWPPP/OSHA Safety/Quality Assurance/Energy Compliance) as well as sales. Responsible for inter-department communication, overall management and quality of their team, as well as interaction with clients on a daily basis. this position is a remote position but has to be centrally located in the Indianapolis area as the position does require a good bit of travel. A company vehicle is supplied.
Essential Functions

1. Serve as the technical expert for state NPDES stormwater permit requirements in the areas you support including a strong industry understanding of municipality requirements
2. Create vision for your team and constantly think of how to improve processes to move forward as a team
3. Primary client contact for all services in the market, not limited to; storm water compliance, safety compliance , environmental field services, quality assurance, energy compliance, and other environmental services
4. Grow the business with both new clients and additional services to existing clients.
5. Approach situations by considering financial impact of decisions including consideration of staffing levels
6. Ensure managers are maintaining weekly site inspection schedule and driving routes for field consultants, including daily reference of area rainfall and always creating efficiencies
7. Meet regularly with direct reports and work to develop their leadership skills
8. Ensure managers are conducting weekly calls for entire regional team of Compliance Field Consultants
9. Ensure managers are doing regular site audits 1-2 days per week, to ensure quality of field consultants
10. Regularly audit work of direct reports to ensure they are leading their team well and upholding proper procedures
11. Conduct quarterly site evaluations for company clients in the region
12. Ensure managers are scheduling and overseeing safety assessments and OSHA Standard safety consulting
13. Become familiar with energy code and rating services
14. Train your team on important elements of NPDES stormwater permits and appropriate client requirements

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Work Environment
On location at client construction job sites. Proper construction field attire is required including high top hard-toe work boots that protect the ankle, hard hats, safety vest, khaki pants (no jeans). Safety glasses and safety vest may be required on a case by case basis pursuant to local and jobsite specific requirements.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Pay
This is a full-time position 40 hours a week, generally Monday-Friday. Due to the nature of the industry and environmental laws/regulations, you may have to work on weekends and/or holidays. This position has a base salary plus bonus based on back end revenue.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected in order to ensure all markets responsible for are visited.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of management experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of NPDES construction stormwater regulations
- Strong computer, organizational, writing and communication skills
