The Finance department is responsible for driving all activities related to PATH's accounting and financial functions and ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), PATH policies and procedures, internal controls, and audit support operating in 20 countries. Cross functional collaboration is frequent with partners in human resources, legal, IT, procurement, office of grants and contracts, and the extended program leadership team to not only educate regarding finance and accounting procedures, but also explore how the finance function can support program and other operations groups building and optimizing finance business processes and systems to meet future needs and demands.
PATH's Global Accounting Services team is currently seeking a talented Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor to join our global corporate accounting team. The AP Supervisor will promote high quality service to both vendors and employees by setting an example of clear communication and the consistent application of our policies. The AP Supervisor will work with the Accounts Payable team to oversee adherence to PATH Accounting policies as well as those of our donors. The right candidate is comfortable with projects with no prior precedent, seeks scalable and IT oriented solutions, and will join the team in "rolling up their sleeves" when necessary. This position will require superb organizational skills, attention to detail, and superior customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
Under general manager guidance, oversee the accounts payable staff including assigning, reviewing, and evaluating work and work schedules. Develop growth opportunities by coaching and developing staff.
Function in a key role within the AP team for solution consulting, process automation and ensuring compliance with PATH's policies and procedures.
Provide training to process users and ensure strong process integration with other departments, including procurement, payroll, and project administration.
Review payment requests, invoices and other payment forms for accuracy, proper payment authority and proper coding.
Ensure timely execution of weekly payment runs.
Oversee global vendor database in collaboration with country office finance staff.
Investigate discrepancies and resolve AP transaction exceptions and differences.
Supervise Travel Accounting functions.
Oversee Corporate Credit Card reconciliation.
Manage the Form 1099 preparation in compliance with federal regulations.
Utilize sound financial principles to perform functions such as: record keeping, reconciliation, auditing, and analysis.
Complete monthly and annual reconciliations of assigned GL accounts within deadlines.
Assist in response to financial, statutory, and donor audits.
Provide business process expertise and user acceptance testing for our Business World support staff for ERP or bank interface upgrades.
Assist with other accounting department responsibilities as assigned.
Required skills and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance plus a minimum of five years of accounting experience required; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Two (2) years supervisory experience with increasing levels of responsibility in a diverse workforce.
Knowledge of general accounting principles (GAAP) required.
Demonstrated knowledge of accounts payable function.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with persons from diverse educational, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including advanced skill in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP's and macros).
Experience with a global ERP system is a strong plus.
Experience with improving processes and implementing automation.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, multi-location environment.
Identify and develop strategic opportunities for the department with a view of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Must be action oriented, have strong oral & written communication skills, and strong organizational abilities.
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

We offer our employees a competitive salary and generous benefits.For candidates based in the U.S., the annual salary range for this position is $49,000 - $98,000. The final salary is based on a variety of objective factors.
