The Temporary Summer Camp Teacher at Pathfinder Early Learning Center is crucial in facilitating developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children enrolled in the summer camp program. Following classroom lesson plans, this position creates engaging activities and plans field trips to enhance the children's summer experience while adhering to Indiana Childcare Licensing Guidelines, the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct, and Paths to Quality Regulations.
Responsibilities include planning regular lessons and field trips to stimulate children's engagement, following licensing guidelines for responsive physical care, and implementing the Conscious Discipline Curriculum to foster social-emotional skills. The Temporary Summer Camp Teacher collaborates with colleagues to maintain a positive learning environment and ensures compliance with licensing regulations regarding health, safety, discipline, and classroom environment.
Additionally, this role involves completing 20 hours of annual training related to Early Childhood Development to stay updated with best practices and regulations. Overall, the Temporary Summer Camp Teacher provides a safe, engaging, and enriching summer camp experience for children at the Early Learning Center.

Requirements
Preferred Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
- At least 18 years of age; must be at least 21 years of age to work with infants and toddlers independently.
- Basic language, written, and computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to support people with disabilities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed.
- Ability to speak, hear, and read the English language.
- Essential physical skills – be able to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, be able to lift 50 pounds, push and pull against potential resistance; and be able to implement CPR and First Aid when needed.
- Shall have adequate vision, reading, writing, documentation skills, and hearing to perform the job's essential functions.
