JOB SUMMARY:
Senior Phlebotomy Manager, under the direction of the Director of Phlebotomy Operations, oversees multiple functions to ensure the successful delivery of the services provided. These functions include: all job duties and responsibilities of the Phlebotomist Manager; direct oversite of the Phlebotomy Training Manager and their assigned area; and working with the Director of Phlebotomy Operations to facilitate continued sales and operational support.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assume all responsibilities of a Phlebotomy Manager.
- Responsible for daily operations of all assigned facilities.
- Prepare and evaluate reports indicating phlebotomy production and error performance.
- Provide team leadership and maintain responsibility for the delivery of overall phlebotomy metrics.
- Proactively maintain regular engagement with key client contacts in line with client expectations.
- Ensure delivery of Client KPIs including day to day service levels, customer experience, quality measures and compliance measures.
- In conjunction with Director of Phlebotomy Operations and Phlebotomy Training Manager, develop standardized phlebotomy training program
- Build upon the development of the operational talent pool (with HR) by optimizing the skills of the existing team. Ensure succession plans are in place and individual talent is recognized to fill key roles.
- Work with Phlebotomy Director and Training Manager to ensure clarity around priorities, goals, and success for the training program.
- Create and Implement the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for phlebotomy services in accordance with PathGroup guidelines and distributes information to phlebotomists as needed.
- Collaborate with the QA and Medical Director to ensure all Federal, State & local licensure requirements are met, where applicable.
- Undertake the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the training program, and designated state operations.
- Collaborate with Director of Phlebotomy Operations on strategic planning and business opportunities, continuous quality improvement.
- Develop and implement a well-defined communication and engagement model to ensure all teams understand the performance of the business and needs of their team.
- In conjunction with Director of Phlebotomy Operations, manage relationships, contracts, compliance and financial sustainability of budget.
- Maximize phlebotomy department efficiency, productivity, and performance.
- Select, effectively manage, and coach both manager(s) and supervisors. Exhibit excellent leadership, people management, communication and influencing skills.
- Manage and develop positive operational client relationships (where appropriate) by conducting operational client review meetings and day to day ops liaison within key work streams.
- Demonstrate achievement of results e.g. business improvements, cost savings, and revenue generation.
- Develop and manage quality performance standards and organizational/productivity objectives in line with the sales.
- Manage and influence stake holders and uphold a positive business community.
- Manage and promote employee engagement.
- Motivate and effectively manage performance of Phlebotomy Operations Team members to ensure delivery of overall targets and business plan.
- Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the industry’s best security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information and other sensitive company data.
- Must be familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including the Privacy and Security policies.

- Work with other departments within PathGroup and subsidiaries.

EDUCATION & LICENSURE:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of progressive leadership experience.
- Phlebotomy certification strong preferred.
