Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

As a Part Time staff Psychiatrist, you will carry an assigned caseload providing direct patient care, conducting psychiatric evaluations and prescribing and monitoring medication in one or both of our Tucson office locations or Telehealth for some patients. As part of our Pathways team, you will provide oversight of the medical assistants. You will participate in treatment planning, case consultation, staffing, and document client interactions, to ensure progress towards client goals. This position addresses client clinical needs during workday hours and participates in a rotational on-call, typically one week a month, after hours (these calls are rare).


  • Knowledge of basic child/adolescent development, behavioral health, therapeutic modalities, and crisis intervention techniques
  • Ability to manage time, work independently, and utilize Word, Electronic Health Record and prescribing systems, and Outlook
  • Ability to use the DSM-V TR to assess and document an accurate diagnosis and conduct a mental status exam. Ability to assess intensity of services needed, Substance use, and make a differential diagnosis
  • Proven experience completing clinical documentation timely and accurately
  • Ability to work as a team, providing sound clinical staff consultation/education and collaborate internally and externally
  • Ability to manage high acuity patients. Experience effecting change of behavior and safety to self/others in a short amount of time.
  • Stay current with diagnostic and treatment changes/modalities and maintain licensure and certification (if applicable)
  • Ability to advocate and articulate the client’s current psychiatric needs to caregivers and clinicians
  • Attend/participate in individual and team supervision as scheduled

What we are looking for:

  • MD or DO license in Arizona
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child/Adolescent psychiatry
  • Proof of: CPR/FA and a valid Arizona driver’s license as well as proof of education are required. The fingerprint clearance and driver’s license must be without restrictions. Bilingual-Spanish/English a plus.
