Assurance Accountant

Responsible for the overall attest engagements. This position reports to the Assurance Manager. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employees may perform other related duties as required to meet ongoing needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform analytical procedures

• Perform substantive testing

• Prepare audit programs and correspondence letters

• Make sampling selections

• Maintain an emphasis on quality control and assist, as needed, with the peer review program

• Work independently, while understanding when you ask for assistance.

Education/Experience:

• Undergraduate degree in accounting.

• 0-2 years of financial statement audit experience at a public accounting firm. Public accounting experience must be recent, at most 3 years removed.

Requirements:

• Experience working with privately held clients is a plus.

• Industry experience is strongly desired in these major areas

• manufacturing

• real estate

• construction

• franchisors

• not-for-profit

• "Single audit" and GAAS experience is a plus.

• 401(k) audit experience is a plus.

• CIRA audit experience is a plus.

• Proficiency in the following applications is required;

• Excel or Word

• Proficiency in the following applications is a plus;

• QuickBooks

• PPC Checkpoint Tools

• Workpapers CS or other electronic based audit software
