The Role You Play
The Facilities Manager here at Pawnee plays an integral role in our daily operations. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance and operations of our 15 offices, spread over our 10-county range. They are also responsible for the maintenance and internal decoration and furnishing of all offices.
- The Day-to-Day
- Actively responsible for managing, researching, and recommending solutions for space availability and any space utilization issues identified by management.
- Solely responsible for ensuring that public-facing Pawnee spaces are functionally decorated and set up to meet Pawnee’s mission and goals.
- Coordinates and manages ALL Pawnee furniture, non-IT equipment, safety and First Aid supplies, and some custodial items. This includes managing the distribution, storage, and disposal of these items.
- Manage a team of 2 Maintenance Specialists and Custodians. Hire and manage contracted workers performing grounds work (snow removal, mowing, cleaning, ect).
- Plans and coordinates approved building modifications and updates, system repair, and preventative maintenance. Facilitates and manages any construction contracts with assistance from COO when necessary.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Acts as primary point of contact for Pawnee landlords; negotiates lease agreements with said landlords as directed.
- Creates and maintains key plans for all Pawnee offices.
- Plans, coordinates, and participates in relocation of Pawnee staff/equipment when space is acquired, reallocated, or vacated.
Who You Are
Because Pawnee’s service area is so large, the ability to travel as a part of regular job duties is a must. Up to 25% of the average work year may be spent on the road, and includes the rare but present possibility of overnight travel. You are also required to be on-call for facilities emergencies (water leaks, vandalism, unlocked doors, tree or fire damage, ect.) throughout the offices.
- Required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in commercial property management or closely related field.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate facility improvements and office relocation projects.
- Ability to travel in the 10-county service area up to 25% of average work year. Possibility of overnight travel.
- Ability to be on-call for facilities emergencies.
- Basic personal computer skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language.
- Preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of facility maintenance needs (HVAC, minor electrical work, plumbing, physical safety, construction projects, ect).
- Experience with Microsoft Office software.
