What are the responsibilities and job description for the Studio Manager position at Pax8?
The Studio Manager works closely with all internal content creators to ensure smooth and productive workflows, in addition to strategizing and advising on continued development of internal and external resources that foster consistently produced video and audio creation. They oversee the scheduled use of the Pax8 Studio, enforce equipment tracking, and develop livestream capabilities; all while maintaining high production value and technical standards. The Manager regularly balances multiple projects - remote, in-studio, and in the field.
They consistently demonstrate a combination of on-set direction, oversight of studio usage, and expert hands-on shooting and video editing. The Manager supervises, directs, and mentors adjunct studio personnel, both staff and contractors.
Essential Responsibilities and Percentage of Time Spent (includes, but is not limited to):
- Strategize and advise on continued development of Pax8 Studios as a resource for both direct and self-service content creation
- Maintain oversight of equipment usage, maintenance, and studio security; develop studio schedule and gear sign-out workflows
- Collaborate with various internal content creators and their leadership to align strategic OKRs to meet overall company goals, driving overall growth and contribution to company KBOs; conceptualize and propose new content offerings that will drive success towards OKRs and KBOs
- Contribute to the development of Pax8.live as an “always on” branded resource, delivering the Pax8 narrative by utilizing content from across Pax8 to inform and educate the partner community in order to drive sales and Pax8 thought leadership
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
- At least ten (10) years of experience enabling and developing content creators and their process with a “hands-on” aptitude to lead by example
- Fundamental understanding of the technology channel, and the inner workings of SaaS sales through various channels
- Expertise and deep knowledge of video production, live- and post-production workflows
- Knowledge of Canon & Sony Cameras, SNS/EVO Media Management, Vmix workflows and Lighting Grids preferred
- Ability to be adept at editing in Adobe CC and other industry standard tools; comfortable shooting, coaching talent, equipment setup, lighting, and sound
- Proven track record of content creation and team building
- Experience and fundamental understanding of consistent marketing and brand awareness
- Demonstrated experience in developing emerging hybrid video capture and streaming technologies
- Experience coaching and teaching others, with a proven track record of peer influencing and community building, with demonstrated grace under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to own video projects from script to screen
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask
Required Education & Certifications:
- B.A. in Communications/Media or equivalent
Compensation:
- Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $91,000 or more depending on experience
