Job Description Summary: PayPal is seeking a dynamic Payroll leader and owner with experience in all facets of Payroll Operations for the Americas to help transform and scale how we do our work. In this role, you will lead a payroll team of four Payroll Analysts who care for the North America payroll processes to get results including delivering a high level of customer service and quality, driving operational efficiency, payroll accuracy and timeliness, and implementing continuous process improvements for our bi-weekly payrolls across the United States and Canada, leveraging Workday, ADP GlobalView, ADP Streamline, and ServiceNow. In addition to day-to-day operations of the team, you will elevate operations through understanding the voice of the customer, partnering with internal and external customers and vendors to resolve persistent issues and emerging business needs. You will also bring your leadership and payroll expertise to help prioritize, drive and support major projects while working closely with the Sr. Manager of Payroll and other global team leaders. Job Description: Payroll Manager Responsibilities: Maintain and encourage a customer focused environment within the team, creating transparent and easy to use payroll processes Lead the payroll operations team and organize work to drive efficiency SME (subject matter expert) for all areas of Payroll Operations including Time and Attendance, Payroll Tax, ServiceNow, etc. Responsible for day-to-day accuracy and timeliness of all payroll activities assigned through the development of controls, checks, and balances Develop and implement SOPs (standard operating procedures), process flows, policies and guidelines using best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency of payroll operations Serve as technical expert for Payroll issues through a deep understanding of Payroll, Time and Tax regulations, systems, and data flow Engage and develop your team throughout the employee lifecycle including hiring, mentoring, training, delegation, coaching, recognition, and performance management Champion technology and process improvement to increase efficiency and accuracy Oversee and reviewing payroll payments and account reconciliations Research and address payroll issues using data to identify trends and opportunities Identify root cause analysis and discover the source of problems Perform audits on data and system maintenance to ensure accuracy and adherence to service level agreements Ensure adherence to federal, state, provincial and local payroll regulations, internal/external audit, and SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) requirements, etc. Other tasks as required Experience Level 5 years of progressive and proven payroll experience leading a payroll team Expertise in a multi-state payroll environment Large company (10,000 employees) experience preferred Extensive US and Canada payroll experience and expertise Strong experience of US payroll processing in a managerial capacity Extensive knowledge of US state taxes and state unemployment insurance Strong analytical and problem-solving skills requiring require extensive investigation and analysis Experience implementing process improvements Exposure and knowledge of complex HR (Human Resources) processes that impact payroll Advanced MS Office and Excel Skills Proven knowledge of ADP GlobalView, ADP Streamline, Timekeeping, or similar time and attendance and payroll applications Demonstrated ability to work professionally and discreetly with extremely confidential information Effective communication skills (oral & written) and ability to effectively interact with various levels of the organization Education Level Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred Additional Job Description: Subsidiary: PayPal Travel Percent: 0 Our Benefits: At PayPal, we’re committed to building an equitable and inclusive global economy.
