Job Description Summary: What you need to know about the role As a Senior Developer Community Manager, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to engage with and nurture the developer community. You will work closely with internal stakeholders as well as external developers to create engaging educational materials and facilitate a collaborative dialogue. Our team designs experiences, testing and tooling capabilities critical for our developers to build and go-live with PayPal’s payment integrations across all segments. The Developer Experiences team is part of the Merchant Product & Engineering organization, and responsible for PayPal’s end-to-end developer experiences – including developer onboarding, integration, and servicing experiences within small, medium, and large enterprises. Job Description: Your Way to Impact: You will enhance the developer experience, drive adoption of our products through strategic community engagement, and act as the voice of the developer. You will also administer and grow our PayPal Developer Champions program as well as create and expand other Influencer based programs. Your Day to Day: In this role you will, Community Engagement Oversee community forums and social media channels, ensuring a positive and collaborative environment. Facilitate discussions, answer queries, and foster a sense of camaraderie among developers. Plan, organize, and participate in virtual and in-person events, including webinars, meetups, and hackathons, to connect with developers and share knowledge. Developer Support: Regularly update and expand our knowledge base with solutions to common challenges, best practices, and FAQs. Content Creation: Work with our developer documentation team and subject matter experts to create video and written tutorials to guide developers through the integration process and showcase advanced features. Utilize various channels, including blogs, newsletters, and video platforms, to distribute educational content and keep the developer community informed. Feedback Collection: Implement strategies for collecting feedback through surveys, feedback sessions, and polls to gain insights into the developer experience. Analyze feedback data to identify trends, common pain points, and areas for improvement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams for resolution. Advocacy and Evangelism: Act as a liaison between developers and internal product teams, advocating for developer needs and influencing product enhancements. Represent PayPal at external events and conferences to strengthen relationships with developers and showcase our commitment to the community. What you need to bring: Enthusiastic and proactive with a passion for fostering a collaborative developer community. Ability to balance multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends, ensuring that our developer community stays at the forefront of innovation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, marketing, and customer support. Proven experience in a developer community management role or a similar position. Experience with creating technical documentation, tutorials, and other educational materials. Strong technical background with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts. Experience as a developer is preferred. Familiarity with key programming languages.
