Product Marketing Manager

PayPal
Washington, DC Full Time
POSTED ON 4/25/2024

At PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL), we believe that every person has the right to participate fully in the global economy. Our mission is to democratize financial services to ensure that everyone, regardless of background or economic standing, has access to affordable, convenient, and secure products and services to take control of their financial lives.

Job Description Summary: Our Consumer Marketing GTM team delivers clear, inspiring, breakthrough product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies and marketing campaigns that answer “Why PayPal?” for our consumer audiences. Our success is defined by our ability to problem solve, understand what’s in it for the customer, and translate that into best-in-class content and experiences that drive our business forward globally. We are looking for an ambitious, creative product marketer who can support multiple products across our consumer portfolio, with a natural ability to see the “big picture” as they help shape short and long-term strategy development. In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally with marketing, product, commercial, comms, creative, media, and legal teams to help guide when, where, why, and how we introduce new products and features to our customers, and what role they play in our consumer lifecycle strategy ongoing.

Job Description:

What you’ll work on:

  • Support the development and execution of Marketing GTM strategies for new products and features that translate our consumer segment strategy and competitive strengths into marketing plans that drive customer and financial growth.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across marketing, product, comms, and more on end-to-end planning and execution of GTM marketing plans.
  • Develop consumer facing creative and content playbooks and toolkits for product/feature releases that can be used and improved over time.
  • Be a champion of “Why PayPal?” across the business – aiding in the development of competitive and differentiated positioning and messaging, and helping to ensure it is applied across our entire customer journey.
  • Partner closely with global GTM leads and international marketing teams to ensure global rollouts are locally relevant, resonant, and aligned to business priorities and outcomes.
  • Support GTM initiatives with tight project management and operational efficiency as we build out new processes and capabilities for the business.

Who you are:

  • You’re able to manage highly interdependent, complex projects and keep your workstreams on track while also keeping your partners and stakeholders informed along the way.
  • You love learning about how things work and can digest highly technical concepts into simple ideas that anyone can understand. You’ve got a knack for converting those ideas into action.
  • You don’t give up easily. You know how to adjust, pivot, keep moving, and stay motivated in a changing environment.
  • You have a bias for action and are known for your accountability.
  • You bring deep empathy for the customer and adapt your approach to best reach and engage your target audiences.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and know how to “sell in” your ideas.
  • You’re highly ambitious and want to make an impact on the business and our customers.
  • Most importantly: you’re a team player. Product Marketers on the GTM team collaborate across every part of our business, and we treat our partners with respect, operate with transparency, and strive to bring our best selves to every interaction.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years’ consumer marketing experience with direct experience in shaping product positioning, value propositions, and messaging.
  • Customer Champion with demonstrated track record in designing customer-centric marketing plans.
  • Aptitude for incisive prioritization and experience running complex set of initiatives concurrently across planning, analytics, creative development, and stakeholder management.
  • Solution-oriented with a growth mindset and demonstrated ability in developing insight led learning agendas.
  • Track record in working empathetically across multiple cultures, geographies, and teams.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
