Job Description Summary: PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 2 in New York, NY Job Duties: Assist with the documentation and analysis of select technical product requirements using object-oriented programming to build performance efficient, high-volume, and highly scalable software applications and optimized features in support of Pay Pal’s distributed systems. Develop front end using applications HTMLS, CSS3, JavaScript, and React.JS for PayPal products that meet business needs concerning functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and consistency to development principles and product goals. Drive architecture discussions, produce well-documented design docs, and participate in design and code reviews. Ensure code quality and maintainability by evolving architecture and tech stack, refactoring, standards, and improving build and test systems. Conduct software design and code reviews, fix bugs and resolve production issues. Develop automated tests and deliver high-quality software code to production within a short development cycle in the continuous integration and delivery environment. Share engineering support, release, and on-call responsibilities for an always-on 24x7 site. Build PayPal internal and external RESTful Application Programming Interfaces (APis) using Express and NodeJS. Telecommuting permitted – work may be performed from anywhere in the U.S. Job Description: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus one year of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
