DEPARTMENT: Marketing
STATUS: Full-time, Exempt
SUPERVISOR: Art Director

PBS Distribution (PBSd) is a leading distributor of public media content around the world, reaching audiences through multiple platforms and formats while generating revenue for the public media system, stations, and producers. Extending our reach beyond broadcast, we operate six streaming channels on Amazon Prime Video Channels.

PBSd is seeking a motivated and highly organized Trafficking Manager to ensure that all creative deliverables and workflows are being scheduled and performed effectively for the Creative Services team. This position will keep Creative Services on task and projects on deadline by handling the logistics while keeping all parties within the PBS Distribution eco system informed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Trafficking Manager supports PBS Distribution’s Creative Services team and works across all departments within PBSd to fulfill the production and delivery of all creative assets. The position ensures all information and assets flow seamlessly to the right people at the right time. The Trafficking Manager must be thorough, proactive with questions and concerns, and understand that the position provides key information to the Creative Services team.

The Trafficking Manager will create detailed production schedules, enforce creative SLA’s, prepare and deliver approved creative assets on various digital platforms, and manage the workflow and scheduling for the Creative Services team. This position is the keeper of all campaign spec information and leads information gathering calls with key stakeholders.

It is critical that the Trafficking Manager listens closely, catches every detail, recalls all meetings and discussions regarding every project that they are a part of, with detailed notes taken. Firm understanding of media plans, rich media vendor standards, social media specs and process are vital, and constant communication are key to success in this role.

The Trafficking Manager reports directly to the Art Director and works closely with the Marketing, Digital Content and Distribution groups.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the delivery, maintenance and transferring of assets to key vendors and storing in our internal asset management system.
  • Stay highly aligned with multiple cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Content, and Distribution on timing, specs and final delivery.
  • Ensure asset deliverables meet product specs and necessary timelines.
  • Proactively communicate needs, updates and priorities of the Creative Services team with cross-functional partners.
  • Identify potential challenges and escalates to the attention of the Art Director.
  • Lead weekly creative and production meetings discussing scheduling and creative tasks at hand forecasting any difficulties.
  • Be the point person with teams outside of the organization to provide accurate specs for PBSd creative development.
  • Continuously evaluate workflows and tools for scale and efficiency.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of experience in Creative Project Management / Trafficking Management.
  • Agency experience, broadcast media, or direct to consumer experience strongly preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Knowledgeable of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Drive) and Keynote.
  • Current knowledge of streaming technologies and platforms.
  • Previous experience with operational workflows that require managing and tracking documentation via a Digital Asset Manager, Excel, Box, OneDrive and/or other databases.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, troubleshoot and problem-solve on a fast-paced schedule.
  • Standout team player with good problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced at bringing tasks to completion in a dynamic environment where last-second requests and projects occur frequently.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Sharp creative and editorial eye for content and promotional assets such as photography and video clips.
  • Ability to envision the bigger picture while maintaining a finely tuned eye of detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in marketing or similar business-related field.

LOCATION

PBS Distribution is headquartered in Arlington, VA with an additional office In Boston, MA. The Trafficking Manager will be located in Arlington, VA.
