What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wellness Specialist position at PCS Mental Health?
At PCS Mental Health, it's our mission to enable individual persons who have serious mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorder and/or a dual diagnoses of SMI and IDD live a life that is meaningful to her or him in the community on terms she/he defines.
Specific Duties:
- Management and administration of Wellness Program at assigned sites: Wellness Workshop, LIFE Group, exercise programming, and individual consultations.
- Consults with Program Director for scope and sequence of delivery of wellness program. Participates in bi-weekly mandatory wellness meetings and mandatory program staff meetings.
- Utilizes creative approaches, personal offerings and experience to complement wellness activities and to help create a rich program.
- Responsible for marketing of and scheduling of wellness activities and schedule with
program staff. - Provides 1:1 Wellness counseling with members on an appointment basis. Schedule to be determined by the Wellness availability and program needs.
- Flexible to occasionally travel to alternate sites to facilitate wellness activities and workshops.
- Documents and enters necessary data and charting for the site wellness program. This includes attendance at wellness workshops and all activities, wellness assessments of new admissions.
- Maintains monthly weights, measures, labs, risk assessments, progress notes, and the development of a wellness plan with the member and staff.
- Ensures proper scheduling with Program Secretary to keep members up to date on tests.
- Responsible for updating LIFE group notification forms.
- Supports Program Director in planning and implementing PCS-wide Wellness programming for members and staff.
- Able to identify and support wellness in the hearts, minds, and bodies of staff and members by providing creative, effective marketing, programming, and communication with members and treatment teams.
Qualifications:
- 24 college credits towards degree in Wellness or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Teaching, counseling, coaching, psychiatric, complementary and alternative health experience desired but not required. Skilled in Microsoft Office.
