SUMMARY

The Senior SAP PRA Analyst will participate as a key contributor to internal and external financial accounting, reporting, and corporate accounting functions.  This role will be responsible for providing technical and functional expertise in the SAP Production Revenue Accounting (PRA) module and system functions.  The Senior SAP PRA Analyst will be accountable for translating business requirements into application system solution, assist with leading system enhancement projects, provide technical and process support for PRA module, and ensure system integrity. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the position that are most important to get the job done.

  • Provide technical and functional support in the SAP Production Revenue Accounting module and reporting related functions;
  • Assist with day-to-day PRA issue resolution tasks, analyze requests, and provide system guidance to business users;
  • Serve as a liaison between the Revenue Accounting, Division Orders and SAP team to gather requirements and prioritize requests;
  • Translate business requirements into application system solutions and perform PRA configuration tasks;
  • Identify, document, highlight and escalate issues related to Production Revenue Accounting and DO system functions;
  • Develop/manage detailed configuration and testing of the SAP system modules to meet functional business requirements;
  • Work with business and IT stakeholders on the planning and delivery of small- and large-scale enhancement projects;
  • Promote business user adoption and adherence to system best practices, prepare training materials and conduct end-user training;
  • Assist with third party integration issues, support data migration activities and assist with report enhancements;
  • Support key business enhancement activities and provide functional support in the PRA and DO system processes;
  • Serve as direct point of contact to functional stakeholders to analyze and troubleshoot system and process issues;
  • Provide functional PRA module expertise and assist with JVA integrated process;
  • Develop test scripts, perform system and process enhancement testing and coordinate issue resolution efforts;
  • Monitor system utilization effectiveness and provide process enhancement guidance;
  • Coordinate with other module owners and actively seek out solution beyond monitoring and support;
  • Provide system and process control support and engage in audit compliance functions;
  • Interact with all business stakeholder levels and work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the SAP PRA Manager;

  • SAP Production Revenue Accounting (PRA) knowledge and experience;
  • Working knowledge of end-to-end process including Production, Ownership, Revenue Accounting, and Tax and Royalty Reporting, with detailed knowledge of one area minimum;
  • Strong upstream oil & gas accounting skills;
  • Familiarity with configuration and integration points between PRA and other SAP core modules;
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently collaborate with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong knowledge of the underlying PRA database structure.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    The minimum level of education, experience, and certifications required to perform the job.

  • Accomplished incumbent typically possessing a minimum of 5 years job related experience, established position specific skills, and working knowledge of other inter-departmental functions;
  • At least 3.5 years of SAP PRA experience with a minimum of 2 plus years of upstream oil & gas accounting experience;
  • Good understanding of accounting and transactions related to the PRA module, reporting and other accounting concepts;
  • Familiarity with SAP configuration in PRA module;
  • Experience in creating functional specifications and enhancement testing;
  • Experience in developing & executing enhancement test functions;
  • Understanding of integration between PRA and other SAP modules is required;
  • SAP PRA implementation/project experience is preferred;
  • Experience in SAP Joint Venture Accounting (JVA) preferred;
  • Experience in SAP transport/change control procedures and management preferred;
  • Bachelors degree in MIS, Accounting, Finance or other relevant areas.
