The Opportunity
PDI is looking for a highly motivated, results-driven Sales Assistant. Sales Assistants provide contracts and support to the Sales Team with non-standard contracts. It is a role that works with executive management to gain the approval of contractual concessions, assuring contractual compliance with PDI’s policies, and risk management requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate software agreements, including software license, hosting and professional services agreements, NDAs, and SOW’s. Advise on legal, finance and business considerations associated with those commercial transactions.
- Collaborate and partner effectively with sales, legal, and finance.
- Assist executives, sales professionals and legal with matters relating to our standard contract templates and agreements already in place with customers.
- Regularly contribute to and refine templates, playbooks, and guidance documents. Support department-wide efforts to organize, manage, and archive contracts and agreement templates.
- Provide training and counseling to sales professionals. Coordinate with the legal department on compliance matters.
- Assist with the organization of sales presentations and ensure that all sales presentation materials are prepared prior to deadlines
- Update customer records in Salesforce as required
- Contact customers to answer basic procedural questions or to gauge their level of satisfaction with the company
- Collaborate with the sales staff to actively monitor software license rates and terms
- Maintain updated knowledge of company software and services
- Research historical sales data such as billing, revenue by customer, etc. and explore opportunities for proactive sales opportunities to existing customers
- Drive customers to electronic ordering processes and tools
- Prepare, administer and coordinate customer quotations, proposals, bids, orders, contracts and specifications in an efficient manner.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5-8 years of relevant experience with a software company.
- Proven skills in drafting commercial transactions, including SaaS, licensing, and professional services.
- Excellent negotiator with strong influencing skills that can plan, manage and conduct negotiations using a non-confrontational, win-win manner.
- Strong business acumen
- Team player, willing to pitch in where needed, learn and adapt to change
Preferred Experience
- Experience using Salesforce
- Experience in the convenience store, logistics and/or wholesale fuel markets
