Worship Director

Peace Lutheran Church is seeking an enthusiastic, musically gifted leader as Worship Director to lead the various aspects of the music and worship ministry of our congregation. Peace Lutheran is located in a rural setting outside the small, but growing community of Baldwin, WI. We are blessed with that small community feel with access to all the amenities that Minneapolis – St. Paul, MN has to offer.

Peace offers two blended services each Sunday with a nice mix of traditional and contemporary music. We have an active Mid-week program with choirs for all ages. Our Mission Statement is “to spiritually enrich as many lives as possible.”

This is a new position for our congregation. We anticipate 30 – 40 hours/week, but an exact job description will be developed around the candidate and their gifts.

Worship Director Job Description

I. Worship Ministry

A. Form and mobilize worship teams

• Shepherd and recruit people to join worship team
• Equip the worship team in the theology of worship, spiritually, and in ministry.

B. Lead and conduct worship team meetings/rehearsals

C. Lead the worship team and assist in coordinating the worship services.

D. Create inspiring worship experiences

E. Coordinate and encourage special music

F. Be available to lead and/or take part in the musical aspects of such ministries as:

• Vacation Bible School
• Sunday School, including the Christmas Program
• LOGOS Midweek Program, including the end of year program
• Other Special church services/events, including funerals and weddings
• Other music ministry related opportunities that may arise

II. Ministry Team Chair Expectations

A. Meet monthly with pastor(s)

B. Work with the Board of Deacons to organize volunteers to help with services

• Attend meetings as needed

C. Position will be held accountable to the highest Biblical standards in calling and in character

III. Worship Arts Media

A. Explore and suggest Peace's worship media programs

B. Prepare/oversee weekly worship music and slideshow presentation

C. Coordinate with tech team and pastor(s) for order of service

D. Use visual aids (media, images, and objects) that enhance communications in worship

E. Create graphic art enhanced brochures and flyers to promote the worship ministry

IV. Preferred Qualifications

A. Proficiency in playing piano and/or guitar

B. Good organizational, leadership, and communication skills

C. Work as a team player, caring for fellow leaders and working relationally in accord with the pastor(s)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,568.00 per year
