JOB TITLE: Team Technician

Job Summary:
The Team Technician provides direct care to clients on the Inpatient Crisis Unit. The Team Technician functions as a member within an interdisciplinary team to provide a safe, therapeutic environment and support clients in the stabilization of crises and reintegration to the community.

Essential Duties/Requirements/Activities:
· Provide supportive counseling for SRT clients and their families
· Assist in a coordinated team approach in working clinically with clients
· Assist with family meetings on assigned clients as needed
· Provide documentation and feedback based on observations and interactions with clients on assigned clients
· Participate in treatment planning/discharge planning reviews of assigned SRT clients
· Concisely and correctly complete documentation and related paperwork in a timely and professional manner
· Facilitate clients orientation to the Unit
· Assist in the implementation of day treatment activities and therapeutic groups for clients
· Provide peer review and constructive feedback for other Team Technicians
· Assist with reviews of seclusion/restraint implementation utilized with assigned clients
· Coordinates with clinical team regarding the care of clients
· Assist in providing safe environment for staff and patients
· Assist with the discharge process for assigned clients
· Assess and evaluate assigned patients’ current status and document accordingly
· Ability to arrive to work and ready to work on time.

Education:
Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a direct care worker; higher educational level can account for years of experience
Certifications:
Clear and Active current Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) certificate preferred
Training:
Complete all PRC required trainings.
Complete all contact hours required for certification renewal (if applicable)
Attend all PRC clinical and administrative functions deemed appropriate by supervisor.
Complete Aggression Control Technique (ACT) training
Knowledge and Skills:
Computer skills- Microsoft Office, CMHC and Internet
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Good organizational skills
Ability to respond appropriately in stressful situations while maintaining self-control
Demonstrate the ability to communicate appropriately and professionally in stressful situations with clients and/or peers.
Demonstrate the ability to prioritize work load and multi-tasking when needed.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate effective verbal intervention, ACT, and seclusion/restraint procedures

Must have reliable transportation

Glucometer, B/P equipment, stethoscope, Ambu-bag, Oxygen cylinder, backboard, veni-puncture equipment, restraints.
Supervisory Relationship(s)
Reports to SRT Clinical Manager
Work Environment:
The work environment is fast-paced and consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require occasional standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. A small amount of travel may be required for meetings etc. to another PRC location.
