Grant Auditor

Peak Performers is seeking experienced auditors for a fabulous opportunity to work with our partner, a State of TX Government Agency.

Who you will be working with

This state agency helps preserve Texas history, maximizes state revenue through efficient administration, and through the prudent stewardship of state lands and natural resources.

Major duties

• Conducts special compliance examinations into grantee accounting practices related to the expenditure of agency grant funds and grantee matching funds.
• Examines and analyzes the accounting records of grantees for reliability, adequacy, accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulations, and documents areas of non-compliance.
• Prepares draft reports for every completed special examination for review and approval which must identify areas of non-compliance with applicable laws and grant requirements.

What are we looking for?

• Skill in the use of a computer, applicable software, and sampling techniques.
• Ability to compose clear and concise written reports, to gather and analyze accurate and relevant audit information, to evaluate accounting and management operations systems for accuracy and legal conformance.
• Experience in auditing and accounting work, interpreting state laws, and policies and procedures pertaining to grant awards.

About this position

• Rate: $42.00/hour.
• Length of engagement: Through August 31, 2023 (Fiscal Year End) with potential for extension and conversion to permanent status.
• Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week (Hybrid). Travel between Austin & Houston required.
• Location: Hybrid, candidates must live in either Austin, TX; 78701 or Houston, TX; 77027.
