Job Summary:
This position must demonstrate knowledge/ability of several key areas including but not limited to, temperature, pressure, torque, flow, and physical /dimensional areas.
Candidate must have or be willing to attain Certified Calibration Technician by an accredited education institution.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Calibrate test instruments in categories such as physical dimension, electronic, torque, force, pressure, and environmental condition.
Perform in-house calibration on selected in-house calibrated tools such gages, and test cell equipment by use of existing standard operating procedures/guidelines.
Coordinate with outside vendor(s) or travel to local outside vendor facilities may be required at times to drop off and pick up tools requiring special OEM calibration or repair to special tools that can only be calibrated by vendor or OEM by use of special calibration devices.
Document all work performed to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and ISO requirements.
Recognize out-of-tolerance conditions and initiate corrective action and documentation.
Perform calibration and functional checks using a combination of mechanical and electronic standards.
Use of a management software program to keep track of all calibration required tooling
Record and report abnormal function of equipment or out of tolerance conditions.
Complies with company policies, procedures and adheres to company standards.
Performs work in accordance with approved equipment calibration, maintenance, and safety procedures.
Daily spot check production floor calibrated tools that may be defective and communication with shop personnel is essential.
Performs additional duties as required.
All other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Must have a minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training.
One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be familiar with the use of measurement equipment such as Caliper, OD micrometer, Height Gauge etc.
Minimum of 2-5 years direct Calibration Technician to include FAA Calibration requirements and the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
Prior experience in the Aviation industry a plus but not necessary.
Must have excellent verbal & written English skills and be detail oriented.
