Our client is looking to hire someone that will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing customer Data Center cooling systems.
Candidates should have experience handling, installing, and repairing HVAC equipment and be comfortable working with little to no supervision.
This job requires after-hours service support with monthly on-call schedules.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use exceptional operational understanding of Thermal systems, including split systems, DX systems, glycol, controls, etc.
- Train customers and contractors on use of Thermal equipment.
- Perform standard Preventative Maintenance duties on all Liebert / Vertiv equipment efficiently and without supervision.
Understand Liebert / Vertiv iCOM control system.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, replace compressors and failed parts, etc. on all equipment.
- Proficiently solder, braze refrigerant lines, water lines, etc.
- Communicate daily with service coordinator, reporting job-by-job information about equipment ID, estimated time to complete job, labor hours and parts used.
- Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.
- Maintain good working order of company vehicle, including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues, and submitting monthly vehicle inspection form.
Vehicles should be washed on a regular basis.
- Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in company vehicle.
- Obtain customer signature at completion of job. Obtain correct customer information, including email address.
- Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain replacement parts, calibrate systems to manufacturer's recommendations, effectively communicate issues, corrective needs and recommended solutions to customers.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proficient working with Liebert / Vertiv equipment (or similar); two years of experience working with Data Center Thermal systems preferred
- EPA Certification
- Able to work independently on commercial HVAC service calls
- Recent experience using a vacuum pump, micron gauge and a refrigerant reclaim machine
- Valid driver's license to drive to customer sites in company provided vehicle
- Available to perform scheduled on-call and overtime duties
- Prior safety training and OSHA preferred, but not required
- Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
