The Assessment Consultant (Education) has the primary responsibility to drive sales in their territory. Assessment Consultants are looked to as thought leaders within the broad Clinical Assessment organization. Assessment Consultants are well versed in the Clinical Assessment product offerings, beyond basic features and benefits, as they work closely with customers to determine optimal solutions to meet customer needs.
Assessment Consultants will use their professional knowledge of the market, gained from extensive formal education and/or field experiences, to identify and sell solutions that address the problems that customers are trying to solve (i.e., provide intervention/treatment through accurate diagnosis and intervention).
Assessment Consultants are laser-focused on business development and providing consultation to customers to promote a positive experience that leads to new business growth.
Assessment Consultants are expected to deliver pre-sales consultation support in assigned sales territory to help guide customers through the decision-making process. The primary goal for an Assessment Consultant is to help the Clinical Assessment division achieve quota by expanding and uncovering new sales opportunities, providing content- and practice-based consultation, and support to customers at multiple points in their journey with Pearson Clinical Assessment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver on assigned revenue goals through consulting with customers within an assigned territory and executing comprehensive sales of products, trainings, and licensing solutions.
- Think strategically about products and accounts by developing and executing on tactical territory sales plans.
- Quickly demonstrate proficiency in knowledge of customer account history, as well as the specific needs and requirements of key customers, and the critical issues impacting each account.
- Facilitate customer consultations, both virtually and in person, to present product information, demonstrations, and comprehensive solutions.
- Attend national and regional conferences and events to meet customers, gain market feedback, and generate sales opportunities.
- Be knowledgeable of market trends, industry news, and competitive landscape.
- Work collaboratively with Marketing, Product Management, and other internal business teams.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven track record of previous sales success.
- Experience building relationships within an assigned territory to expand sales.
- Excellent business development skills.
- Effectively navigates multiple steps in sales process with multiple decision makers.
- Well-organized with efficient time and territory management skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to exceeding sales objectives.
- Forward-thinking, strategic focus on Technology Sales (Digital assessment, iPad delivery, etc.)
- Prior industry experience OR knowledge of assessment or psychometrics is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to deliver formal presentations to customers and at state/national conferences.
- Bilingual skills a plus!
Travel
- The position requires a willingness to travel up to 30% of the time. The position also requires that the individual be comfortable in a relatively independent working environment, with primary contact with team members being virtual.
Reporting Structure
- Assessment Consultant (Education) will report to the designated Regional Sales Manager.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
Minimum full-time salary range is between $55,000 - $60,000.
