What are the responsibilities and job description for the Designer position at Pearson?
Principal Duties:
- Perform layout and desktop publishing tasks
- Preflight and troubleshoot graphic design files
- Provide approved page layout files to print vendors
- Create interactive PDFs
- Make updates to graphic design source files
- Review and approve proofs
- Create and modify vector and raster art files
- Provide source files to stakeholders for adaptation
- Archive graphic design source files on server according to approved process
Principal Responsibilities:
- Work with Senior Designers and other Creative Services staff to prepare graphic design source files for production
- Assist in the creation of processes and procedures for product design, approval, implementation, coordination, production, and quality assurance
- Assist in all forms of art creation for test materials
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
College degree in graphic design and 3 years of graphic arts experience, or equivalent.
Special Skills Necessary:
- Proficient in Macintosh-based graphic design and print production software applications including Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to thrive within a dynamic workflow, solve highly complex problems, and develop reasonable solutions and practical workarounds
- Ability to work well in a team environment and prioritize healthy, effective communication in a cross-functional team environment
- Ability to accept responsibility for successful project completion and ensure the quality and integrity of products
As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only , the range of starting pay for this role is $50,000 annually.
