Summary:
The Director, Measurement Services, will report to the VP, Global Testing Services and is responsible for leading a global team of talented psychometricians and statistical analysts responsible for delivering a full spectrum of measurement services for clients in the Professional Certification, IT, Regulatory Licensure and Admissions markets around the world.

Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and training for global team of psychometricians and statistical analysts.
Consult across a variety of unique global testing programs and situations with regard to test construction and design and recognize and articulate the measurement implications to the long-term functioning of the testing programs or projects in the construction of test forms and the preparation of items for various testing purposes.
Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to drive a collaborative solutions-driven environment while ensuring adherence to cross functional process standards. Understands roles of different departments and how these impact Measurement Services deliverables, schedules, costing, and scope.
Provide business development support for new opportunities by meeting with prospects to assist in gathering requirements, designing solutions, writing and reviewing proposal language, and providing inputs for cost models.
Drive department planning, execution, process adherence, improvements and efficiencies through standardized measurement practices.
Provide measurement inputs with regard to new development and/or existing system enhancements to Technology and Product teams.
Required Education & Experience:
Doctoral degree in educational measurement or a related field from a nationally recognized institution of higher education.
Minimum of ten years of relevant job experience, preferably with the complete range of psychometric issues faced with operational assessment programs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to effectively apply, design solutions, and train others in psychometric techniques—including classical test theory, item response theory, test equating, scaling and linking, job task analysis, and standard setting—to new and unique operational testing settings.
Ability to apply software packages and programming languages commonly used in psychometric work or research (e.g., SAS, R, WINSTEPS, IRTPRO, C ) to new and unique settings faced in operational testing programs or research projects.
Ability to effectively communicate about how issues in measurement can impact the licensing program. Effectively tailors technical presentations to different audiences, e.g., client groups, subject matter experts or technical audience.
Ability to identify and articulate the broader implications of relevant national trends in measurement practices for operational assessment programs or research projects.
Working Location and Travel:
Preference for Bloomington, MN or Chicago, IL. Remote work is a possibility for the well-qualified candidate.
Ability to travel for client meetings and professional conferences, as required, about 25-30%
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $165k- 175k.
