Working from a home-based position, the editor is responsible for executing editorial standards and protocol for all core and elective online courses, including lessons, assessments, multimedia, and ancillary materials.

Responsibilities:
Work with an Agile team and Product Development managers to ensure the release of high-quality curricula and resources
Perform developmental and copy editing on K-12 digital products, to ensure that content meets quality standards such as accuracy, clarity, and consistency
Align all content to Pearson's Global Content Editorial Policy and diversity, equity, and inclusion guidelines
Become an expert in the PVS authoring and editorial style guide, and industry guidelines such as The Chicago Manual of Style
Guide content developers and other team members in the application editorial style, standards, and processes
Examine, research, and resolve editorial issues; respond to team members’ concerns
Work with Manager of Editorial to define and update editorial style, language, and conventions as they evolve with changes in reputable industry resources
Work effectively with a cross-functional Agile team to complete projects and features; within this context, oversee and manage own editorial workload, productivity, and quality; identify and apply product and process improvements
Propose and implement procedures and new ways of working within the editorial team
Maintain effective relationships with colleagues within the department and across Pearson
Learn and perform other duties, such as researching and resolving reported errors within the curriculum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in English, writing, or related field
Minimum 3 years editorial experience, including experience editing and improving digital products
Editorial experience within the field of educational publishing is a plus
Proficient with a variety of style manuals, including The Chicago Manual of Style
Proficient with Microsoft® Office, and ability to learn other software and technology platforms quickly
Advanced knowledge of education management systems, learning management systems, and/or content management systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with SAFe Agile/LEAN principles and Azure DevOps is a plus
Experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives is a plus
Working knowledge of accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG 2.1) is a plus
